In a sometimes pre-fab, one-size-fits-all, disposable culture, what I find myself most interested in building are quality frames that will last your lifetime, using the same techniques that master builders of high end bicycles have used for ages. Because I build each frame, one at a time in my own shop, I am able to take my time with each step of the process, and put true skill and craftsmanship into every hand-built silver-brazed frame.

A well designed rando bicycle will ride well with a load on the handlebars for the handlebar bag, right where the rider needs it for easy access. Designed with fenders, integrated lighting, racks for bags, and geometry to suit longer rides. Has lighting for the front and rear lights for night riding. Whether doing the Paris-Brest-Paris or “credit card touring” these machines are made to travel, and perform. Tubing choices are made with flexibility and comfort in mind. Columbus, Deda, True Temper, or even NOS Reynolds 531 can be used (Depending on availability).
With simplicity in mind, a wide variety of options can be incorporated into the bike. Fenders for the occasional rainstorm, lights for getting home late, a rack for carting the groceries are all possibilities. Some other options include having only a rear derailleur for the occasional hill, custom stem, custom racks, and handcrafted lugs.
Longer, unsupported rides, with comfort and distance in mind. Provisions for fenders, lights, racks, and water bottles. Touring bikes have a geometry specific to touring, weight distribution, and handling.
Because the mixtie lugs are no longer made, I make the joints from the half lug style, opening up the geometry to anything we want. This also gives the bike a look that’s ——— Super classy! The rear end of the mixte has a triple stay treatment that has a bridge on the middle set of stays that touch the seat tube as well as the stays, tiying them all in together for strength.
Straight forward, simple machines designed for fast road riding, club riding, racing or sprinting around town, these bikes are made to handle well going fast. Tubing options are made with light weight kept in mind. Most lug options are open to the customer.
There are of course lots of variations on the subject. The winter training, single speed track bike is of course one of those variations. Unlike its track specific brother, this bike is built for the street, with provisions for brakes, and slightly different geometry. More suited for the road
Custom stems, chromed or painted to match your frame, can be made to compliment your custom bicycle. 1” quill or thread less stems are made to order. There are a number of features to consider. The binder bolt can be tucked underneath or attached to the front of the clamp. Cable stops can be added through the extension with an adjuster. Front racks for handle bar bags with a decaluer to secure the bag can also be made. Custom racks and decalures fit your bicycle better than prefabricated ones.
